Chalet Matidi...
Located right at the foot of the Croix Fry slopes opposite the chairlift, Chalet Matidi is the ideal place for a family holiday in the mountains, at any time of year.
Shops, restaurants, and the ESF ski school are just a few steps from the property, with more shops and dining options at Col de Merdassier (2km) and even more in the resort of Manigod, a 7km drive away.
Outside the ski season, there are plenty of walking and cycling trails in the beautiful countryside around the chalet. Mountain bikers can take the Tête de Cabeau chairlift to higher ground before starting their descent. And for a refreshing break, head to the swimming pool in Merdassier.
About the property…
Chalet Matidi is a three-storey, semi-detached chalet with plenty of room for up to eight guests, including six adults. It has four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The lower floor has a single garage, a ski room with a heated boot dryer and storage space.
The ground floor is where you will find the open-plan living area, which opens onto a furnished terrace with great views over the Beauregard massif. On one side of the room are the fully equipped kitchen and the dining table. In the light and airy seating area, armchairs and a sofa are arranged around the TV, made all the more cosy by the open fire.
A small room containing a set of bunk beds can be used as a bedroom for children. This room opens onto the terrace, and there is a separate toilet.
On the first floor are three double bedrooms. One of them boasts its own shower room with a toilet, and the other two are served by a bathroom with twin washbasins. All three bedrooms open onto balconies, and one of them includes a desk. There is a separate toilet on this floor.
On the practical side, Chalet Matidi also has a washing machine, a dryer and an outdoor parking space.

Chalet Matidi can be found at the Croix Fry pass, 7km from the charming village of Manigod.
Manigod is a picturesque mountain village in the heart of the Aravis massif, just 6km from Thônes and about 27km from Annecy. Surrounded by lush alpine pastures and peaks such as La Tournette and L’Étale, it is an ideal base for exploring the region while enjoying an authentic, friendly atmosphere. This resort appeals to winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
In winter, the Manigod ski area offers 25km of marked pistes spread across the Croix Fry and Col de Merdassier sectors. These are connected to La Clusaz and the vast Aravis ski area, providing even more skiing options, including freeride zones. Fans of winter sports can also enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, particularly on the Beauregard plateau and in the Balme massif.
During the rest of the year, hiking trails – especially those on the Beauregard plateau – offer spectacular views of the Aravis and routes suitable for all levels. The area also lends itself to mountain biking, climbing, and paragliding. The nearby Lake Annecy is the perfect place to enjoy swimming, paddleboarding, or kayaking, and a visit to Annecy’s old town is highly recommended.

“A rejuvenating stay guaranteed!”
We had a lovely stay in Silvia and Marc's flat. Warm atmosphere, tastefully decorated and perfectly equipped, the chalet is ideally located at the foot of the slopes and close to shops. The place is quiet, spacious and very well laid out.

We were won over by the Matidi chalet's location and layout.
As soon as we opened the door, we were charmed by its warm and bright atmosphere. Ski enthusiasts will also appreciate the convenience of the garage (at the edge of the slopes), which offers practical and even heated storage for their equipment.
The interior layout is beautiful, with spacious living areas and maximum sleeping capacity and bathroom facilities.
As for the location – close to La Clusaz without being in the very touristy resort – it is ideal: open views, close to the ski lifts, a stone's throw from the ski school, at the start of some lovely walks, not to mention the proximity of a delightful shop and, for rest and relaxation, a much-appreciated wellness centre.

Direct access, skis on your feet to the Manigod resort with ski lessons (ESF) for children. In just a few runs, you can reach the splendid La Clusaz ski area... a real treat for winter sports enthusiasts!
The chalet is just a few steps away from the ski shop for equipment hire and a delicatessen where you can stock up on bread every day and local produce!
The Matidi chalet combines charm and comfort. It is well equipped, with high-quality bedding, cosy living areas with an open fire and sunny terraces.
Finally, it has a very practical heated ski room!

Thanks to its location at the foot of the Manigod slopes, Chalet Matidi is perfect for a family mountain getaway.
The open-plan living room, with a terrace wrapping around two sides, is just the place to relax after a day on the slopes or exploring the mountains. In colder weather, you can gather around the fire long into the evening after an active day in the Alps.
The children’s room, which opens onto the terrace, is a cosy, private space that’s sure to delight younger guests. Upstairs, the three double bedrooms all open onto balconies, where you can start the day with a deep breath of fresh mountain air.
One of the bedrooms has a desk where you can work remotely.
We particularly like the flow of the chalet: everything is within easy reach, without any unnecessary extras. The ski room with heated boot dryer means your skiing equipment will always be dry and ready to go, while practical amenities such as the fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and garage make longer stays equally enjoyable.

We are a Belgian family of five, all passionate about mountains, skiing and hiking. A few years ago, we discovered La Clusaz during a winter holiday and it was love at first sight: the exceptional beauty of the ski area, the magic of Les Confins, the authenticity of the villages, the kindness of the locals and the wonderful restaurants where we enjoyed a delicious meal after a day on the slopes...
Then we explored the Manigod valley and the Beauregard plateau.
It was a revelation.
The breathtaking view of the peaks, the peaceful yet lively atmosphere.. We knew that this was where we wanted to create our family memories.
The Col de la Croix Fry won us over with its ideal location: ski-in/ski-out in winter, magnificent hiking trails in summer, and always that feeling of being in the heart of the mountains while remaining accessible. The proximity of Annecy allows us to vary our pleasures with a day at the lake, and Geneva makes it easy for us to fly in for short stays.
What won us over in this project was the rare combination of an exceptional location and a high-quality chalet, built with beautiful materials and designed to take full advantage of the mountains.
